Dream to Be
Providing young girls with the equal opportunity to benefit from the valuable life lessons that hockey has to offer
Thanks so much to the Sudbury Professional Fire Fighters Association for their generous donation in memory of Humboldt Broncos to Dream to Be! The Sudbury Professional Fire Fighters Benevolent Fund does so many great things for our community. We look forward to introducing many more girls to the game thanks to this donation!
To work to eliminate financial barriers for young girls that want to play hockey
Fundraise to cover the cost of registration fees and equipment for young girls from families that do not have the necessary means to register their children in sports
To provide young girls the equal opportunity to benefit from the valuable life lessons that hockey and sport in general has to offer
The inspiration for Dream to Be came to us during our community work with our hockey teams. We met a young girl one day who immediately turned to her mother when she saw our hockey team walk in the room and said with excitement “See mom, girls are allowed to play hockey!” As her mother mentioned to us that day hockey and sports in general were a long distant option for this family. This is a common issue for many families all over the world.
We both felt that it was important that all individuals are provided with the great opportunities, life lessons and experiences that hockey has to offer. We have started this initiative in order to help as many young girls as possible to get their start in sport.
